NAUTILUS

As Philadelphia recovers from the foreclosure debacle of 2008, it finds itself faced with development in a changing environment. In this project an old ware-house in the Navy Yards district of Philadelphia is retrofitted into a high-end apartment building. By preserving the existing structural system the building respects its historical neighborhood while the pre-fab apartment units poking through the facade suggest the radical transformation on the inside. The project was developed in conjunction with the Wharton School and Urban Outfitters.

PennDesign/Wharton School, Field Application. Instructors Ali Rahim and Keith Weigelt.

Collaboration with David Nix. Alex Knowles and Nate Broughton.
Branding & financial work by Anya Ruvinskaya and Bibi Takou.
