INTER-DEPENDENCY
This project investigated the concept of structural inter-dependency. The three-part prototype was inspired by sand dune formations, in which dune creases were translated into a structural inter-locking system. The bottom part of each piece folds down into the ‘valley’ of its underlying neighbor and locks into place. By distributing the elements vertically, the structural logic of the surface folds are accentuated.
